Easter Desserts
With as much care poured into them as any good home cook would, our chefs make all sorts of Easter puddings. So many, in fact, that we appreciate it can be hard to choose. To help, have a think about whether you’re wanting an Easter dessert that’s chocolatey or fruity; one that’s served hot or cold; and if you prefer a traditional Easter Sunday pudding or something you might not have tried before. It can also help to consider whether you’re serving a light or heavy Easter main meal.
Chocolatey or fruity puddings for Easter: Our Great Taste award-winning Chocolate & Salted Caramel Pavlova (serves 8 – 10) is a real crowd pleaser; as is our Raspberry Pavlova, packed with fresh cream and raspberries. A firm favourite since day one at COOK, and both are perfect to serve after any Easter starters and mains of choice.
Hot or cold Easter desserts: April’s weather mood swings make this decision a bit tricky, but the beauty of frozen food is that you eat what you feel like on the day, leaving the rest in the freezer for another occasion. Apple Strudel and Glazed Apple Tart are both cosy and comforting if it’s chilly, and a Classic Lemon Tart is great if it’s warmer and you don’t want to turn the oven on. Simply serve with some fresh red berries on the side. If you’re serving up an Easter buffet instead of a sit down meal, you can still make it work by slicing up some of our bigger desserts into small pieces.
Traditional Easter puddings or something a bit different: Our Lemon Cheesecake could make an alternative great Easter Sunday dessert; or little helpers could Easter-fy our Triple Layered Carrot Cake by making a mini egg nest in the middle. Top tip from us: make sure you’ve got options for guests following vegetarian Easter dinner or vegan Easter dinner menus.
