How we make it
Delicious pork and leek sausages (prepared exclusively for us by the famous sausage-maker Speldhurst using UK pork and no artificial additives) are roasted in the oven until their skins turn a deep golden brown, then sliced. Sweet cure streaky bacon is cut into strips and fried until golden and crispy before Bramley apples and leeks are added to the pan to soften them gently and release their sweetness. All of the above is added to truly delicious apple-y, creamy sauce – made with onions, chicken stock, apple juice, wholegrain mustard and a splash of double cream. Finally, new potatoes are cut into quarters and braised gently before being added. Perfect winter comfort food!
Serve With
As this has new pototoes in it, it’s a meal in itself. You could serve it with some peas, or a swirl of double cream. Best thing to do is crack some black pepper over it and enjoy!
