We saute onions, garlic and carrots until soft, then add red wine and British beef stock and reduce until the sauce is rich and glossy. We then gently braise our British beef mince with bay leaves until soft and tender and stir that through the sauce to combine and marry together.
- Can be cooked from frozen in the microwave, or cooked on the hob from defrost.
- Perfect for a speedy family supper (it'll easily stretch to four, stirred through pasta).

Simple supper
- Serve with a garlic baguette and to balance out the carbs a little salad.
Something fancy
- Add a little chipotle powder and smoked paprika. Then chuck it on top of some tortilla chips, add a little cheese and bake for a super quick beef chilly nachos. Top that with what ever you like, guac, sour cream, jalapeños..
Mixing it up
- Lasagne - have it on the table in under an hour with this Bolognese sauce, all you need to do is make a white sauce, layer it as you like, bake it and enjoy!
Pasta Bolognese Recipe
Serves 2
A traditional slow-cooked Bolognese ready in about 8 minutes.
All you need is:
- 150g of pasta, preferably rigatoni
- Freshly grated parmesan
Method:
1. Pierce the top and pop it in the microwave or on the hob as per the cooking instructions.
2. Put a pan of boiling water on the hob with a generous pinch of salt.
3. Cook 150g of pasta in boiling salted water, we like rigatoni. Stir the hot Bolognese sauce through the pasta to coat it.
4. Serve with a generous sprinkling of freshly grated parmesan and, if you like, a little extra virgin olive oil.
5. Add a green salad and garlic bread on the side if you like.

MICROWAVE FROM DEFROST: Keep refrigerated and eat within 4 days. Follow the microwave guidelines but cook for 2 mins 30 secs, stir, 1 min 30 secs.
