Our Frozen Cheese Souffles: A World First! (Maybe)
Posted on 2 February 2011
This week we've launched what may be the world’s first frozen cheese soufflé (we haven’t been able to find another but then we haven’t translated “frozen cheese soufflé” into 127 languages). Made by hand at the COOK Kitchen in Kent using mature cheddar, feta and parmesan, the Three Cheese Soufflé with Red Onion Marmalade pushes the boundaries of frozen food and is perfect as a delicious lunchtime treat or stunning dinner party starter.
Edward (co-founder) said: “A soufflé is one of those dishes that tends to frighten even the most accomplished home cooks so we’re thrilled we’ve cracked it. The big question is always: will it rise to the occasion? The soufflé gods still decide exactly how much ours will rise but regardless of height they’re light and lovely and a little bit groundbreaking.”
The soufflés sit within an edible basket of filo pastry meaning no ramekin or container is required. A spoonful of caramelised red onion marmalade sits at the centre of each.
Cheese Soufflés with Red Onion Marmalade - £4.99 for two. We're doing an introductory offer during February, with £1 off. However, unfortunately we're not entirely sure how well these will travel so they won't be available online for the time being.
