Hello to Butterworth's Deli
Posted on 30 November 2015
Edward here, COOK founder.
We've just filled up 14 freezers with our food in the newly-opened Butterworth’s Deli in New Romney. Peter Butterworth, who has modestly called the deli after himself, was my right-hand man running COOK shops in the early days. For eight years we had a huge amount of fun until, very sensibly, he decided he wanted to run his own business and in 2009 opened The Coach House Coffee Shop in New Romney.
I really do love Peter and it’s therefore a massive thrill that he’s decided to expand by opening Butterworth’s Deli, which half deli and half COOK shop. Do go along and see him and say hello. You can’t miss him as he’s 6ft4, bald and much friendlier than he looks!
Community Employment Scheme
Posted on 30 November 2015
COOK already does great things for those in need, which is exactly why we introduced our Community Employment Scheme. In the past 3 years we have worked really hard to set up relationships with schemes throughout our local communities including our longer-term relationship with HMP Standford Hill with our prison scheme, and more recently with other schemes such as Working Chance, Caring Hands and Avanta...
World's Best COOK Shop Now Open In Tunbridge Wells
Posted on 6 November 2015
Eighteen years ago I persuaded my best friend from school , Matt Hills, to open a little shop in Monson Road to sell the frozen meals my co-founder, Dale, and I had just started making. I assured Matt the path would be paved with gold and it was all going to be a breeze. Needless to say, things didn't quite work out like that... Today, we've opened a remarkable new shop just across the road from that first site. We've been far from an overnight success but Matt, Dale and I have all stuck with it and enjoy COOK as much today as we did back then. The new shop represents a coming of age for COOK (or possibly a sign that Matt and I are now officially "past it"), and I hope you'll come along to marvel at its beauty and taste some food. As an incentive, there's 15% off everything today and tomorrow including our stupendous, new Christmas range. There's also a gargantuan game of pass the parcel you can take part in if you buy anything, at least while the layers last.
Thank you for supporting us in Tunbridge Wells and I hope we'll see you this weekend.
All the best
Edward
