COOK Harpenden opens Friday 14th Jan

Matthew Bourne has worked for COOK for 10 years, doing all manner of things including opening new shops (he's done 42), being the home delivery manager, franchise manager and even an unhappy spell as Marketing manager. A man for all seasons. Luckily Matthew isn't going far (Edward wouldn't take lightly to Matthew working for another company) and he will be opening his own franchise in Harpenden this Friday. If you're in the area, please do pop along between 9am and 6pm on Friday 14th Jan, for tasters, a look at the new shop and to say hi to one of COOK's leading stars.
Here's a snap of Matt on his last day on Facebook, and a goodbye message from Edward:
Something is happening today that I never expected to happen, Matt Bourne is leaving. For the last 10 years I have worked with him on a day to day basis building up COOK . It has been fun, an adventure and almost always, a little stressful. Matt's natural flair and ability, his honesty and his bottomless well of good natured humour have been a significant element in COOK achieving what it has over the years and on a personal level he has made my working life much more enjoyable than it would have been without him being around.
I am delighted that he will be opening up his own business with a COOK franchise in Harpenden. The first of several I hope. I have no doubt he will make a stunning success of this and whilst I will miss the 4 phone calls a day I make to him, I am so pleased that he will still be working with COOK. In addition to his franchise Matt will continue to help us find new locations for franchisees so he will still be very much around.
Matt really is one of the finest people you could ever hope to employ. It has been an absolute pleasure and a privilege to have worked with him over the last 10 years. For the sake of tradition, twice a year, I will phone him up at 6.30 in the morning to bother him with a question about a little detail that could have waited till a more civilised hour.
Mr Bourne , bon voyage, good luck and thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything that you have done for COOK over the last 10 years.
