This is a variation on a classic Italian recipe for sausage pasta. We mince our own pork and stir-fry it with powdered fennel seeds, before cooking it in a traditional Italian tomato sauce. We chose orrecchetti – or “little ears” – because it’s a pasta that holds the pork and sauce really well. There’s spinach on top, which is squeezed dry and mixed with lemon juice, grano padano, basil and parsley – all classic Italian flavours. It’s essentially a healthy pesto (no nuts, no oil).

Cooked Orecchiette (32%) [contains Gluten], Pork Leg (20%), Tomato Juice (12%), Chopped Tomatoes (8%), Spinach, Water, Onion, Tomato Puree, Roast Chicken Stock, Olive Oil Blend, White Wine [contains Sulphites], Wheat Flour [contains Gluten], Mediterranean Vegetable Stock [contains Celery], Butter [contains Milk], Garlic, Grano Padano [contains Milk, Egg], Lemon Juice, Sugar, Salt, Basil, Fennel Seeds, Parsley, Oregano.

Cooking/Serving Instructions

Microwave:

Remove sleeve and pierce film several times. Cook on full power for 4 minutes. Peel back film lid, stir well, replace film and cook for a further 2 minutes 30 seconds. Remove film and stir well before serving.

MICROWAVE Cat E*850W* full power for 4 mins - stir - further 2 min 30 secs - stir.

Extra Warnings:

Steam may be released when removing film lid. Should this product defrost, keep refrigerated and eat within 2 days. Follow the cooking instructions but heat for 3 minutes. Stir well before serving.
